We’re getting married!

It all started in Baja California, we were traveling for the wedding of two beloved friends. From the first day we could feel the energy between us, and even if it could be over by the end of the trip, we decided to surrender and enjoy it because a few days was better than none.

After a few days we met again in Mexico City, and saying goodbye that last night was a feeling we will never forget. Not certain about whether we would ever meet again, we each went home with a mix of sadness from leaving behind those happy moments, and joy from having had the chance to cross paths.

After that day, not a single one went by without texting or talking. Not the timezone difference, nor the 9,800 km between Mexico City and Berlin could beat our video calls, video messages, cooking sessions, travels and mostly the immense love we feel for each other.

Against all odds, what started as a long distance relationship leads us to today, 6 years later. We live together in Berlin, but our families and friends are spread across Germany, Mexico, and elsewhere. We wanted to find a place to celebrate that could bring both sides together. Bacalar, with its incredible lagoon of seven colors, is the perfect meeting point for us and a wonderful place to celebrate our wedding.

One of the most beautiful things about our relationship has been seeing our circles of friends begin to merge. We have each gotten to know and love friends from each other’s circles. For us, this wedding is an opportunity to bring all of you, the people from different parts of our lives, together in one place. We know that a trip to Mexico is a big undertaking, and we are very grateful that you are considering making the journey.

Having you there to celebrate with us would mean everything to us.
